Dear President Bush
Dear President Bush,
Congratulations on your re-election victory and for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. Thanks to you and the religious right I have learned a great deal about God's Law and understand why you would propose and support a constitutional amendment banning same sex marriage. As you said "in the eyes of God marriage is based between a man a woman." I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination...
End of debate. However, I do need some advice from you regarding some other elements of God's Laws and how best to follow them.
1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this
applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanness - Lev.15:19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have
tried asking, but most women take offense.
4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2. clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?
6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev.11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?
7. Lev.21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?
8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev.19:27. How should they die?
9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town
together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev.
20:14)
I know you have studied these issues extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.
P.S.
Psalm 2004
Bush is my shepherd, I shall be in want.
He maketh me to lie down on park benches,
he leadeth me beside the still factories.
He restoreth my doubts about the Republican Party.
He leadeth me onto the paths of unemployment for his cronies' sake.
Yea, though no weapons of mass destruction have been found,
He makest me continue to fear Evil.
His tax cuts for the rich and his deficit spending discomfort me.
He anointest me with never-ending debt;
Verily my days of savings and assets are kaput.
Surely poverty and hard living
shall follow me all the days of his administration,
And my jobless child shall dwell in my basement forever

A Response
I would like to submit this Response to the OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT BUSH. Please kindly give this article a fair chance to the author of the open letter and to other to whom you have sent the article. Thank you.
Dear inquirer,
You surly like the books of Leviticus and Exodus, don’t you? If you start from Genesis and go all the way down to Revelation, you will surly be able to answer all the questions you have raised. See, the whole Bible is God’s revelation for mankind. All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. (2 Tim 3:15-16).
In the certificate of the birth of our nation, Declaration of Independence, our founders based all our right of our nation and each individual on the “laws of nature and of nature’s God”. They recognized that our Creator God gave us the inalienable rights since He is the one who laid down the laws in the nature and in the moral realm. If we creatures wants to violate those laws, we will need to receive the consequences. That was exactly the message our Founders relay to the King of England in our birth certificate.
Therefore, if I were you, I will reply my friends questions about homosexual lifestyle with the book of the beginnings, Genesis. When our Creator created the human race, He started with one man and one woman. Has not the LORD made them one? And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring (Malachi 2:15; Gen 1:26-28; 2:24; Matthew 19:5; Mark 10:7; Ephesians 5:31). The definition of marriage by the Creator is one man plus one woman. The purpose of marriage is to produce godly offspring. That was the Creator’s blueprint for mankind. It was not anybody’s idea.
Dear inquirer, you really don’t need to burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice. Thank God! The Temple and all the sacrificial system in the Old Testament is really the shadow of Christ (Colossians 2:16-17). The whole point of it is to signify that all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness (Hebrews 9:22), for the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). All man died since all man has sined. But God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son to shed His blood in our place (John 3:16; Matthew 26:28; Mark 14:24; Luke 22:20) The Lamb of God had already died to take away the sin of the world so that we may receive life and peace (John 1:29; Isaiah 53:4-5). Since all the sacrifice in the Old Testament is only a shadow of Christ, therefore we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all (Hebrews 10:10-14). Christ already fulfill the purpose of sacrifice (Matthew 5:17) therefore there is no longer any sacrifice for sin (Hebrews 10:18; cf. 10:3-4, 10-12). Aren’t you thankful that Christ has once and for all fulfill the need for sacrifice?
As far as slave is concern, that was never the original intent of our Creator. All human being were created equal, all in the image of God. The Exodus and Leviticus spelled out God’s old covenant with His chosen people Israel. Leviticus 25:44 is not a prescription for Israelites to possess slaves, but a description of how they are already unto the system of slavery and to set the boundary for it to prevent abuse of human right (Exodus 21:7-11). The Old Covenant allows Israelites to sell themselves for their own survival. But they are required to set free all the slaves and to proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants (Leviticus 25:10; Exodus 21:2; Deuteronomy 15:12-13 Jeremiah 34:9-11, 14-16).
Leviticus 25:44 was God’s permission for them to acquire from the pagan nations that are around the Israelites. Remember that those people are already pronounced death penalty for their grievous sins by the Creator and Supreme Judge of Universe (Genesis 15:16; Leviticus 18:25, 28; 20:22). Israelites did not execute all of them, but allowed some to survive and to do forced labor (Joshua 16:10; Judges 1:30, 33), surely much to their delight. The Creator God permitted that. Yet permissive will of God is never the norm, but the exception, much like today’s parents’ permissive will to their strong-willed children.
In the New Testament, Jesus said that He had come to proclaim release to the captives, and to set free those who are downtrodden (Luke 4:18). Paul exhorted Philemon to welcome Onesimus, no longer as a slave, but as a dear brother (Philemon 16-17). Jesus came to set us free. Yet we should not use our freedom as a cover-up for evil (John 8:36; Galatians 5:1; 1 Peter 2:16, 19), since true freedom is never lawlessness or depravity. True freedom means we are free to obey the truth, i.e., the Word of God (John 8:31-21), and free from the yoke of slavery of sin.
Therefore, I urge you not even entertaining the thought of buying Mexicans or Canadians as slavers or selling your daughter into slavery. Our forefathers die to make men free because the believed that Christ died to make men holy. Let us live to make men free.
Under the Old Covenant, Israelites, not matter man or woman, when they have a discharge, they are considered unclean (Leviticus 15: 13, 19-24, 33). The center theme for Leviticus is the Holiness of God and God’s requirement for man to be holy as well (Leviticus 11:44). All the external imperfection (e.g. discharge of human body, defected eyesight [Leviticus 21:20], imperfect beard [Leviticus 19:27]; touching the skin of a dead pig [Lev. 11:6-8]; food laws [Lev. 11:10]) are but object lessons, symbolizing lack of spiritual holiness and therefore the need for sacrificial purification. Again, Christ had come to fulfill the requirement of the law to make us holy. There is no more need for sacrifice.
According to God’s law, Marriage is only between one man and one woman as long as the both shall live. Such marriage is instituted by the Creator and should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral (Hebrews 13:4). Within the context of marriage, I don’t think Israelites would ever find it difficult to know whether his wife is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness. People after Christ are made holy by His death and sex between husband and wife is a matter of mutual consent and mutual obligation.
Sabbath observation is the fourth commandment from the Lord to the nation of Israel (Exodus 16:23-26; Nehemiah 9:13-14; Deuteronomy 5:1-3), never to the Gentiles.. Sabbath rest is the shadow of the perfect rest Christ only can bring (Colossians 2:16-17; Hebrews 4:8-10). Paul said that we are already freed from this requirement (Galatians 4:10-11) since Christ already fulfill all the type/symbol and set aside the Old Covenant (Hebrews 10:9). Your neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath can surely live. If he receive the salvation of Jesus Christ, he can even have eternal life. Your friend can also enjoy eating shellfish freely since God already made it clean (Acts 10:14-15; 11:8-9; Titus 1:15). Jesus emphasizes the importance of thought and words: “What goes into a man’s mouth does not make him unclean, but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes hime unclean.” (Matthew 15:11, 18, 20; Mark 7:15, 18, 20, 23) Since Christ already made us clean, feel free to play football with your gloves! Have fun!!
Our Creator God created and preserved things according to its kinds (Genesis 1:11-12, 21, 24, 25; 6:20; 7:14; 8:19). Old Testament emphasized not to confused different kinds of things (Leviticus 19:19; Deuteronomy 22:10). This is also an external object lesson, signifying spiritual lessons: Not to confuse righteous with unrighteous, heavenly with earthly, godly with ungodly (Leviticus 19:19; Deuteronomy 22:10, 11; 1 Corinthians 3:19, 1:19-2:13, James 3:15; 1 Corinthians 1:10, 11, 5:1, 10:20, 21). Therefore, Paul commanded: “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:14). Tell your uncle that he is free to plant two different crops in the same field. Tell your aunt that she is free to wear garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). But he will do himself a great service if he stops curse and blaspheme His Creator who gave him life and freedom. God’s judgment may be more severe than getting the whole town together to stone them (Leviticus 24:10-16).
God's word is eternal and unchanging. He loves every human being He created to the point that He sent His only begotten Son to die for each one of them and paid for the penalty for all of their sins. His heart’s desire is for everyone to accept the salvation already accomplished by the Cross. He will take NO for an answer since He created human being with free will. Yet the consequence of the free will is not free. It’s either eternal life through grace or eternal separation from the Creator and Life when people so choose. We love people of all kinds with the love of God. Yet that does not mean we need to approve those behaviors that is harmful to themselves, people around them, and the nation as a whole. We love them enough to tell it as it is. May the Lord bless America and the Biblical Foundation from her founders!!
Sincerely,
A single word regarding that immediately, "bullshit".
Oh fercryinoutloud. What a load of crap.
let me say quite funny but we all no that bush is goin to b sent to hell anyway
Your responder begs a response as well.. but first of all, thank you for your open letter. While I found it quite thought provoking, I also got a wonderful laugh from it.. which IS the intent, after all.
As for 'anomymous'.. no thank you for the long winded sermon. Grow a sense of humor, please. Anonymous is so intent on placing everything in the Bible as 'gospel' and without question.. but ponder this, if you will.. was not every word written in that book written by men? and were not each word translated and interpreted by men? It SAYS it is all God's word and it SAYS that Jesus said this, and Jesus said that.. but how do we KNOW that is so? I am merely playing the devil's advocate [so to speak] so don't misunderstand my intentions.. I have a VERY strong faith.. but I find it very annoying and grating when I read such things. I simply refuse to merely be LED by what men say is so.. I choose to read and study and make up my own mind.
BUT.. be that as it may.. great letter and would you not LOVE to read Mr. Bush's responses? ha
Thank you for the long and detailed response. Just as each of these other rules appear to have caveats - Sabbath not meant for the gentiles, sacrificing a bull is actually meant to signify the cleansing with blood, nit literal, words on slavery only referred to the system already in place, did not intent to perpetrate it etc. etc. In the same manner, homosexuality may not be an absolute mandate and command. Yes, for the purposes of producing offspring, the union of a man and a woman is a good one. But just as sacrificing a bull is currently obsolete, the idea of NEEDING more offspring for the world may also be obsolete now.
Also, as you say, if we are all created equal and are loved by God, so are those who are homosexual and practice the lifestyle of a loving, committed homosexual.
Thus homosexuality may be no more an absolute sin than coming into contact with a menstruating woman.
tHE LETTER TO PRESIDENT BUSH AND IT'S REPLY BY ANONOMOUS, PROVE BEST OF ALL HOW MUCH 'THE WORD OF GOD' FROM WHATEVER BIBLE YOU READ IS NOTHING WITHOUT INTERPRETATION BY THE READER; AND THIS IS WHAT 'RELIGION' IS ALL ABOUT! IN OTHER WORDS, ANYONE CAN INTERPRET THE 'WORD' HOWEVER IT SHOULD SUIT THEIR OWN AGENDA. EVERYONE NEEDS TO UNDERSTAND THIS BEFORE WE DESTROY EACH OTHER ATTEMPTING TO CONTROL EACH OTHERS LIVES!
PAX!

I could say a lot here but A. It would probably bore you. B It has probably been said before so I will sum it up quite simply with a very neat quote from Karl Marx: “Religion is the opium of the masses”.
